Petersfield is the smallest ward in Cambridge. It is a largely residential area in the east of Cambridge, roughly bounded by East Road and Gonville Place to the west, Hills Road and Station Road to the south, New Street and Coldham’s Lane to the north, and the railway line to the east. To the north is Abbey, east is Romsey and Coleridge, south is Trumpington, and to the west is Market (the city centre).
Mill Road runs west-east through the middle of the ward, and continues over the railway bridge into Romsey. Mill Road is a major Cambridge shopping street, with mainly independent shops, and forms a central focus for the ward. The main shopping street in the north of the ward is Norfolk Street.
We have taken photos around the area, see our gallery.
Mill Road can be said to divide the ward into north and south: PACT focuses on north Petersfield, while the Glisson Road / Tenison Road Area Residents Association (GTARA) focuses on the south.
