PACT in the news in March

PACT’s chair Anna was interviewed about PACT’s activities and our Summer Event on Cambridge 105 Radio’s 105 Drive by Julian Clover at the end of March. Listen to the podcast featuring the interview on the Cambridge 105 website (or listen to the trimmed version with just Anna’s interview).

Also in the news at the end of March was the winner of the PACT/Norfolk St. Summer Event poster design competition, Lily Bracey. On 30th March, Cambridge News pictured Lily, along with other shortlisted entrants from St. Matthew’s Primary School and PACT trustees.

Carnival time!

We are holding a Carnival-themed parade at this years’ PACT/Norfolk Street Summer Event on 22nd June.

We held a vote for the theme, and the winner was the Millennium Garden.

John at the Man on the Moon has very kindly agreed to let us use his community room for Carnival costume-making workshops on Saturday and Sunday afternoons for the two weeks before the Summer Event! All ages welcome, though under 16s must be accompanied by an adult at all times. A flyer for the workshops is here.

The dates and times available to us are:

  • Sat 8th and 15th June from 1.30 p.m. – 4.30 p.m.
  • Sun 9th and 16th June from 1.30 p.m. – 5.00 p.m.

The workshops will cost £3 per person or £5 per family of four; this will cover the cost of one or all of the sessions, including the cost of materials and equipment. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Spaces are limited, so book early! You can turn up on the day but there is no guarantee that there will be a place if you haven’t booked. To book please contact: summer-event@PACTcambridge.org

For the Summer Event parade itself: meet at 4:15pm by the Millennium Garden on Norfolk St and start at 4:45pm. If you
are unable to attend the workshops don’t worry as you are welcome to join the carnival parade on the day!
The road will be closed to traffic.

Thanks!
